Use Our Information Security Training to Pursue Raleigh IT Security Certifications

Most businesses regard enhancing enterprise network security a strategic priority. These organizations also view acquiring computer security certifications as wise investments for their IT staff. The Security Certified Professional Program (SCP) is the ideal next step for IT professionals to add security skills that are increasingly valued by employers. Over the years, certification has become the foundation method for verification of an employee's skill. The demand for IT professionals with skills in the fast-changing world of network security has grown exponentially. When those people are found, there has been no solid method of verification of those skills. The Security Certified Program has changed that.

Today's complex electronic world requires IT pros with security skills above the standard. The Security Certified Program ensures that employers know that those candidates holding SCP certifications have undergone extensive information security training and have passed the difficult and detailed examinations. There is no better time to add network security to your skill set. People with computer security certifications receive consistently higher base salary, bonuses and raises as compared with other, less-specialized IT positions.

What Are SCP Certifications?

SCP is a vendor-neutral security certification program that enables individuals to acquire skills and get certified as a Security Certified Network Professional (SCNP). New Horizons of Raleigh, Durham and Chapel Hill is an SCP Authorized Training Partner and offers the security courses needed to help you prepare for Raleigh IT security certifications.

What is the SCNP program?
The SCNP program focuses on defensive security technologies, such as Firewalls and Intrusion Detection. The up-to-date security lessons and the hands-on labs bring the security networking world to the candidates. Security+ certification or equivalent work experience is the prerequisite for the SCNP program.

The SCNP program is divided into two exams, which have corresponding courses, the first being Hardening The Infrastructure (HTI) (Exam SC0-411) and the second being Network Defense and Countermeasures (NDC) (Exam SC0-402):

Hardening the Infrastructure
The Hardening The Infrastructure Exam has 6 Domains including Contingency Planning, Tools and Techniques, Security on the Internet and the WWW, Router Security and ACLs, TCP/IP Packet Structure and Security and Operating System Security.

Network Defense and Countermeasures
The Network Defense and Countermeasures Exam has 6 Domains including Network Defense Fundamentals, Security Policy Design and Implementation, Network Traffic Signatures, VPN Concepts and Implementation, IDS Concepts and Implementation and Firewall Concepts and Implementation.

What is the SCNA program?
The Security Certified Network Architect (SCNA) program is the second and final step towards completing the Security Certified Professional (SCP) program. SCP is a widely recognized, vendor-neutral certification program, designed to help individuals keep pace with the latest skills related to Information Security.

The SCNA certification has been designed to take candidates security skills to the next level. Candidates will learn that network security is moving toward trusted communication, and how the defensive schemes alone are not enough. The SCNA program will focus primarily on PKI and Biometrics and how they can increase network security.
